"I believe you can define what it means to be a women however you wish. For me personally, being a women has always meant being strong. Ever since I was a little kid I haven’t wanted to conform and do things that were typically seen as “girly” or “for girls.” I did karate instead of dance and played football. That’s what makes me happy, but if something else makes another women happy, she should feel empowered to do that. I would describe myself as empathetic, or strong-willed.
I am proud of my determination and how I have been persistent in my artistic career. I am often in situations where things are very male dominated, and I have had to advocate for myself in many circumstances. I wish when I was younger I would have been less worried about what other people thought of me. I wish our society didn’t make it so easy for women to be negative towards one another. I would tell younger women to support each other & empower each other, instead of trying to drag each other down. We need each other."
