"Resilient is the word that I've chosen to describe myself. The word is defined as: a person able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions. Over the last eight years that is something I've had a lot of practice at . . . In my early 20's I had cancer twice - I would joke and tell people that I took care of my health issues at an early age. Boy was I surprised when I had an emergency triple by-pass at 42 and then a breast cancer diagnosis at 45 followed by a double mastectomy and chemotherapy. Here I am almost six years later and still going strong! If I had a word of advice for anyone it would be - No matter how bad things look right now, tomorrow is another day! It may take a few of those tomorrows, but things will get better. When it's rainy look for rainbows, when it's dark look for the stars!"
